
A garment worker in Bangladesh’s port city of Chittagong, which is also a garment manufacturing hub, has tested positive for Coronavirus, as per media reports.
The worker concerned reportedly works in a garment manufacturing unit in the Sagarika Road area of the city.
Apart from the garment worker, a banker from Sitakunda and posted in Narayanganj was also tested positive for the dreaded virus apart from another woman from Halishahar area, who also tested positive for COVID-19.
With the three new cases, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chittagong has reached five.
Meanwhile, amidst countrywide shutdown that has been extended further till 14 April, Bangladesh continues to grapple with the virus outbreak in the country.
Till the time of filing of this report, the total number of confirmed Coronavirus positive cases in Bangladesh has reached 218.
A total of 20 persons have reportedly died of the virus in the country and 33 recovered from it.
