Coats Bangladesh has revealed a new 554 KW rooftop solar power installation at its Chittagong factory, marking a significant step towards sustainability. An important turning point in the company’s efforts to reach its Net Zero target by 2050 is this project.
The Chittagong site will be able to obtain about 40% of its daytime power requirements from renewable sources thanks to the recently completed solar installation, which is expected to provide 1100 MWh of clean energy yearly. It is anticipated that this action will significantly lower carbon emissions, saving roughly 694 tonnes of CO2 year, which is the same amount of environmental benefit as planting 60,000 trees.
The solar power facility’s opening demonstrates Coats Bangladesh’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its proactive stance against climate change. Coats is further establishing its leadership in the sector by aligning its operations with worldwide trends towards greener manufacturing techniques, as seen by the fact that both the Chittagong and Gazipur plants are now using solar energy.
