With aims to improve awareness level of the factory managers and workers regarding preventing, reporting and taking actions against gender-based violence and workplace harassment in the factories, the BGMEA has signed a MoU with the BRAC Social Compliance programme to safeguard gender-based violence and workplace harassment prevention, recently.
Media reports maintained this citing a press note issued in this direction even as the apex garment makers’ body and BRAC will work combinedly towards ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for the workers in the apparel manufacturing units.
AFM Shahidur Rahman, Director, Programme Development, Resource Mobilisation, and Learning, BRAC and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, reportedly, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
