In order to retain its fame as a sustainable sourcing destination in the world, Bangladesh garment industry is committed to continue efforts in the area of environmental sustainability.
According to media reports, this was maintained by the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan.
He, reportedly, came up with the observations at a recent event, organised by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), in Dhaka.
Speaking at the event, the BGMEA President, reportedly, maintained Bangladesh was proud to have the highest number of green apparel manufacturing units globally with 160 LEED certified by USGBC, of which 98 are gold and 48 platinum.
