Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO) has reportedly said that that UAE market holds a lot of opportunities for the Indian textile and apparel exporters.
According to the trade association, the UAE is still an untapped market by the Indian manufacturers.
Seeing the opportunities available, around 112 buyers and 51 exporters from India are participating in the ongoing International Apparel & Textile Fair. The three-day event raised its curtains on November 1 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The product range highlighted at the event by the Indian exporters includes menswear, kids wear, high fashion womenswear, technical textiles, etc.
Vipul, Consul General of India in Dubai, who inaugurated the Indian Pavilion at the apparel fair, said, “Dubai is a market where Indian textile and apparel companies need to explore in order to boost their businesses.”
India is the UAE’s largest trading partner. Its exports to the region during the year 2015-16 was to the tune of US $ 3.96 billion, which was 22.7 per cent of India’s garment exports worth US $ 17.35 billion to the world.
The UAE provides excellent opportunities for Indian companies to utilise Dubai’s location as a platform for increasing exports to other countries, FIEO maintained.
