Future Group, a prominent player in the Indian retail and fashion sector, has scripted a deal with the UK clothing and homeware retailer Laura Ashley, a Welsh textile design company now controlled by the MUI Group of Malaysia which runs about 450 stores globally, to make and sell its merchandise in the Indian market.
“We are trying to bring aspirational products within HomeTown as there is enough potential in the market. We are reworking on a strategy for specialty business and will partner or bring more global brands in the category. We will also house the brand within department stores and open at least 15 stores in the next few years,” said Kishore Biyani, CEO, Future Group.
