Debenhams partners with local market partners to debut in Australia and Vietnam

British multichannel department retailer, Debenhams is all set to venture into the Australian and Vietnamese market by 2016 through partnerships with local market partners Pepkor in Australia (part of the global retail giant, Steinhoff Group) and VinDS in Vietnam (part of Vingroup, one of Vietnam’s largest private companies). Prior to this first venture of Debenhams into the Southern hemisphere, a Debenhams led Australian e-commerce site will also be launched by December 2015. A range of women’s wear, women’s accessories and menswear products will be distributed and retailed at selected, Pepkor-owned, Harris Scarfe stores from October 2016. Future plans include the launch of Debenhams branded franchise stores offering the full product range including fashion, cosmetics and home. Vingroup will distribute selected women’s wear and men’s wear brands in 15 stores across Vietnam by the end of 2016.
