Even as Bangladesh went into a 7-day countrywide lockdown recently to stem the spread of the dreaded coronavirus which is spreading its deadly tentacles once again in the country, the Government has, reportedly, allowed e-commerce entities to deliver products in capital Dhaka and in other parts of the country between 6:00 am and 12:00 am.
According to media reports, the Commerce Ministry has sent a letter in this direction to all the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police and Metropolitan Police Commissioners, to take necessary actions even as organisations will, reportedly, provide identity cards and necessary documents to their respective delivery agents as well as delivery vehicles — as per the notification, deliverymen and vehicles for the e-Commerce delivery will have to carry stickers or identity card with the logo and serial number of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB)—involved in transportation and delivery.
It may be mentioned here that the Government has issued a notification announcing lockdown from 5 April to 11 April owing to an alarming increase in new coronavirus cases in Bangladesh.
