
Close on heels of e-commerce platform Eorange’s owner and her husband being, reportedly, sent to jail by a Dhaka court pertaining to a case filed against them, the Commerce Ministry has now served a show-cause notice to eorange.shop seeking information of its assets and customers.
Media reports maintained this while adding the Central Digital Commerce Cell of the Commerce Ministry has issued a notice to Eorange seeking its reply in seven days even as it also, reportedly, sought the company’s liabilities, wealth statement, current capital holdings and the amount of arrears to suppliers till 31 July 2021.
The notice also, reportedly, sought information pertaining to the amount of payment received from the customers for the same time span as well as the number of customers who have not received their products after paying in advance.
It may be mentioned here that as per media reports, a Dhaka court had recently sent owner of eorange.shop Sonia Mehzabin and her husband Masuqur Rahman to jail pertaining to a case over embezzlement of Taka 11 billion, reportedly, filed by some consumers.
