In an effort to establish a legal foundation for the nation’s e-commerce sector, the Commerce Ministry has crafted a draft Digital Commerce Authority Act featuring stringent measures against fraud and deception.
Seeking input from stakeholders for further refinement, the proposed act outlines the establishment of a Digital Commerce Authority Office, led by an executive chairman and four members.
This office is designated to address disputes, prevent criminal activities across the e-commerce sector, and oversee essential procedures such as registering organizations engaged in digital commerce.
Additionally, it will handle buyer and seller complaints, initiating monitoring and investigative measures in response to customer grievances.
