
Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) of India has expressed happiness over the Government’s move to set up an ESI Hospital in Tirupur. Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattetreya announced sanctioning of Rs. 150 Crore to set up the hospital.
The Labour Ministry has announced to develop a 100-bedded super specialty hospital in the region which would be upgraded to 200-bedded hospital afterwards.
T R Vijayakumar, General Secretary, TEA said he was glad to note that the requisition for construction of ESI hospital in Tirupur was conceded by the Minister.

He also informed that for the requisition to increase the overtime hours of the workers from 50 hours per quarter to 100 hours per quarter in line with ILO, the Minister had replied that it would be taken up in the ensuing parliament session and the amendment will be made to increase overtime hours.
A meeting of all textile industry association in Coimbatore region is expected to take place in New Delhi to discuss the ways for ease of doing business, informed Vijaykumar.
