Reports claimed this while adding groundwork of the project is now going on in full swing after the completion of the tender process for equipment and infrastructure, even as the Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, speaking to the media, reportedly maintained the construction work of the Matarbari deep sea port will start in August this year even as the project work is likely to be completed by 2027.
The Chairman of the CPA reportedly further added that once the project is completed, Matarbari deep sea port will be the regional business hub while also stating that the under-construction Bay Terminal, Patenga Container Terminal (PCT) and other terminals of the CPA will act as service ports of the deep sea port in future.
