In a meeting with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), international clothing manufacturers and retailers stressed the importance of prompt shipping despite internet outages and port delays.
The retailers and brands informed them that they would not pursue any discounts, air shipment, or cancellation of purchase orders due to the recent unrest and disruption of production in the nation, according to BGMEA President S. M. Mannan Kochi, who spoke with local media.
On Monday, 29th July, international clothing brands and retailers voiced concerns regarding the prompt shipment of clothing items.
In a meeting with the leaders of the BGMEA at the Uttara office of the organisation in Dhaka, the buyers urged the garment exporters to ensure the timely shipment of products.
Additionally, they urged the leaders of the BGMEA to speak with government representatives in order to get high-speed, uninterrupted internet restored so they can get in touch with their headquarters.
Reporters were informed of this by BGMEA President S M Mannan Kochi following the meeting with the foreign retailers and brands.
