
To facilitate timely shipment of export containers, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association or BGMEA, which is the apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, has once again called upon the buyers to nominate more shipping liners as well as off-docks.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan during his recent meeting with the representatives of the leading shipping company Hapag-Lloyd and renowned brand C&A Sourcing International Ltd., underlined the same even as he, reportedly, added export containers have had to face additional delay at the Chittagong Port owing to selective nomination of off-docks and shipping lines while adding buyers should make optimum use of the capacity of available shipping lines as a best possible way and expressed hopes exports will increase in the months to come.
The said meeting was, reportedly, attended by Director and Shareholder at Hapag-Lloyd Ahmed Yusuf Walid, Vice-President at Hapag-Lloyd Shamsuddin A. Chowdhury, General Manager (Sales and Marketing) at Hapag-Lloyd Saiful Arif Siddiqui, Global Logistics Manager (Headquarters) of C&A Sourcing International Ltd Md. Naimul Huda, Unit Leader and General Manager of C&A Sourcing International Ltd Shantanu Singh, apart from others.
