Brother Industries is among the oldest and most reliable supplier of sewing solutions to the global apparel industry. The Japanese pioneer was represented by Yoshinori Suzuki, Director – Industrial Sewing Machine and Randeep Sahani, Deputy General Manager – Industrial Sewing Machine Division, Brother International (India), at the Bangalore version of the GTE. Yoshinori Suzuki informed that despite the ongoing slowdown in the industry, Brother Industries has met its targets and actually performed better than a lot of its competitors.
With the entire world moving towards sustainability, Brother too has taken initiative to provide an edge to apparel manufacturers who are using their machines. It has to its credit many environment-related international compliance certificates. “All the models of Brother are ROHS (lead free technology) and WEE (waste full of electrical energy) compliant,” confirms Randeep Sahani. Since the end-consumer is becoming aware of the importance of energy saving, buyers are increasingly asking their manufacturers to supply compliant products.
Lately Brother has focussed on organising seminars and training projects in order to educate various garment exporters and manufacturers about its products and their advantages. “Only recently we conducted a production management seminar in Madurai. We had our expert from Japan speaking at the seminar,” says Randeep Sahani. “We are conducting seminars in two tier and three tier cities and moving out of metros, as that is where the lack of training centres and institutes are,” adds Yoshinori Suzuki.
