Seen on the runways for the past few seasons, patchworked and appliquéd denims have become a wardrobe staple for today’s woman. Be it incorporating various distinctly washed denim patches together in abstract pattern or putting cotton plaids, checks and leather overlay on denim panels; patchwork on denim as a trend has grown to a larger extent. Patterned, embroidered laser cut, and pictorial patches like of the stars, flowers, sun, oversized alphabets and logos are adorned all over the surface depicting individuality in terms of patch placement and symbolism. Kneepads, back pockets and hems are now replaced by printed cotton, corduroy, suede and leather. Now-not-so-exposed ripped jeans are being backed by paisley, floral and geometric prints to cover up. With strategically sewn and patched fabrics, the rough and tough denims are getting an exciting new twist creating interesting looks.
