Seattle-based retail giant Amazon bids goodbye to its Fashion Head, Cathy Beaudoin, who has been with the e-commerce hulk for over eight years and was instrumental in pushing for its growth in the fashion sector.
“Cathy Beaudoin has decided to step down from her position as President of Amazon Fashion,” reportedly said a representative from Amazon Fashion. “Given the momentum of the business and strength of the team, she’s decided now is the right time to pass the baton. We thank Cathy for her tremendous contributions to Amazon Fashion and wish her all the best.”

Appointed in 2008, Beaudoin joined the e-tailer from GAP’s Piperlime, an e-commerce brand she co-founded. Later in 2012, she was named President of Amazon’s fashion division, thanks to her success in exponentially speeding up the company’s growth and building vital relationships in the industry.
During her term, the firm entered several tactical partnerships to spice up its high-end fashion game, including sponsoring New York Fashion Week: Men’s in collaboration with Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA); hosting Met Gala in 2012, as well as front lining fashion weeks in India and Japan.

Her departure comes as surprise to many, knowing that Amazon is currently focusing on tapping onto the fashion market in a big way, having recently announced an Alexa-powered device targeted at fashion consumers as well as an all new fashion label, Find.
