Activewear category has truly seen various innovations that revolve around providing maximum performance while maintaining comfort for the wearer.
In one such product innovation, a California-based start-up Rev has developed a line of self-cleaning socks that incorporate pure silver into the fibres.
This allows the socks to remain odour-free and eliminate bacteria from causing skin irritation. Silver has been incorporated into the fibres by using Micron Tech which is similar to the technology used by NASA, US Special Forces and Olympic athletes.
The cotton fibres are sprayed with silver molecules to cover the entire fibre on a micron level. According to Rev, this technology also adds durability to socks making it last 5 times more than a normal pair of socks.
The socks are also made from premium long staple cotton that makes it highly breathable while providing high grip.
The socks are available in several colour options like blue, red, black, etc. and come in two styles, Crew and ankle, with sizes ranging from UK 4.5 to UK 14.5 for men and UK 4 to UK 10.5 for women. The early bird price for a pair of socks is US $ 35.
Their Kickstarter campaign has already raised around US $ 60,132 against their original goal of US $ 5,000. While the production will start in May, the products will be shipped starting from July.
