
Aimed at promoting investments and expanding trade between Nepal and Bangladesh, the second Bangladesh Trade and Business Fair is commencing at Kathmandu, Nepal, on Thursday. Organised at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, the second edition of the fair will be a five-day event continuing till January 25.

Addressing a press meet to present relevant information, pertaining to the upcoming trade and business fair, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams underlined that the objective behind the initiative is to promote trade between Nepal, Bangladesh and the private sector of both the countries.

Organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal, the second Bangladesh Trade and Business Fair, besides showcasing readymade garments, IT products, machineries, electronic appliances, handicraft and leather goods and pharmaceutical products would try and explore investment opportunities in tourism and service sectors, hydroelectricity and in the field of information technology.
Nepal and Bangladesh share a sound business relationship. In the last financial year, Nepal exported goods worth Rs 1.08 billion to Bangladesh, while imports amounted to Rs 2.73 billion.
Nepal mainly exports pulse, medicinal herbs and vegetables to Bangladesh and imports cotton, medicines, battery, fabric, juice, potatoes, milk powder, biscuit, raw jute, tube light and mobile phones, among others from the neighbour.
