
A delegation comprising representatives from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) paid a visit to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), in Dhaka, recently.
During this visit, they engaged in a meeting with BGMEA President Faruque Hassan to address several significant issues.
Taking part in the discussion, the BGMEA president assured the visiting delegation that BGMEA is ready and eager to cooperate by sharing their experiences and expertise in their respective domains.
The meeting ended in a positive tone, with all the participants expressing optimism regarding future partnerships and the sustained progress of Bangladesh’s garment industry.
President Faruque Hassan seized the moment to present a comprehensive outlook on the readymade garment sector, emphasising its present standing, hurdles, and potential prospects. In addition, he expressed the industry’s aspirations and preparedness to tackle forthcoming challenges, while bolstering competitiveness through diversification of products, technological progress, and the nurturing of skills.
He also shared the industry’s vision and readiness to confront future challenges while enhancing competitiveness through product diversification, technological advancement, and skill development.
