
Even as Bangladesh has decided to continue the ongoing 14-day countrywide lockdown — a decision in this regard was, reportedly, taken during a high-level meeting at the Cabinet Division held on 27 July — with instructions for business and industries in general to remain shut till 5 August, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, reportedly, maintained that legal action could be initiated against any industrial unit, if found operating during the lockdown.
Media reports maintained this adding Farhad Hossain informed this to the journalists while interacting with them after a cabinet meeting, recently.
“I am monitoring the industrial mills whether they are open or not,” reportedly, said the State Minister for Public Administration adding, “…if we find any evidence, legal action will be taken against those who are running factories.”
Farhad Hossain also, reportedly, added that except the pharmaceutical industry and factories involved in the production and processing of food products and those involved in preservation of rawhides, others will remain closed.
