
Bangladesh’s popularity and standing as an apparel exporter is opening new windows of opportunity for ancillary sectors and more and more such supporting industries are expanding their footprints in the country to not only help and support the apparel exporters but also give a boost to their business.
Recently, CEVA Logistics, which offers a host of services including air freight, contract logistics, supply chain solutions, ocean freight, etc., has expanded its operations in the country with opening of two new offices.
Apart from its Dhaka-based head office, the company has opened an operational office in Chittagong to offer a full range of freight management solutions including Purchase Order management, CFS (Container Freight Station), customs brokerage, project management and other value-added services, as per media reports.
While speaking about company’s expansion in the country, Russell Pang, Managing Director Emerging Markets (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos & Myanmar) – CEVA Logistics, said “Bangladesh is strategically located to support trading with multiple regions, and has developed a stable and mature export market with the US, Europe and China.”
He then added “Our vision is to add greater value and enhance service options to the market, notably the textile and garment industries, in addition to the increasing new higher value chain verticals of electronics, technology and healthcare.”
