Apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, has called upon the Customs Bond Commissionerate to make its services simplified and faster for the apparel sector.
As per reports, the President of the garment makers’ body, Faruque Hassan made the request during his meeting recently with CBC Commissioner (Dhaka South) Mohammad Ahsanul Haque and CBC Commissioner (Dhaka North) Md Azizur Rahman even as the trade association called for removing complexities in the process of including description of raw materials and other related materials with their HS code in bond licences.
The BGMEA President was reportedly accompanied by BGMEA Vice-President Shahidullah Azim at the said meeting.
