Working closely with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), HSBC’s Serai Limited is funding a digital profile building initiative to help the country’s garment makers in securing a larger share of the global market.
According to media reports, the free initiative will connect local manufacturers with digital agencies in Dhaka, who will create marketing assets so as to promote their businesses online.
Further, the agencies, with the aim to build a strong online presence, will produce promotional assets (such as videos and photos of products, facilities, fabrics, etc.).
Speaking on the new initiative, CEO of Serai Limited, Vivek Ramachandran reportedly maintained that Bangladeshi manufacturers have a huge opportunity to secure a larger share of the global export market through digitisation considering the current state of mass disruption in the apparel trade.
Both the BGMEA and Serai reportedly believe that if local manufacturers are able to use digital tools to showcase their products, capabilities and credentials to the global buyers, there’s a huge opportunity for the country to tap into the international apparel export market.
We want to continue having HSBC and Serai by our side so that we can do e-engagement to a greater extent, because that’s the call of the day, reportedly maintained the President of the BGMEA, Dr. Rubana Huq.
