Apparel exports from Bangladesh, reportedly, registered more than 52 per cent year-on-year growth amounting to US $ 1.63 billion in the first two weeks of March thanks to continuing global demand.
Media reports maintained this adding the BGMEA came up with the figures based on the data of the country’s National Board of Revenue (NBR) even as the Export Promotion Bureau was yet to make an official announcement on the same.
Speaking to the media, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, reportedly, underlined Bangladesh registered this growth notwithstanding the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war even as he, reportedly, added, “…we cannot predict how long this growth will continue as the war may lead to any uncertainty anytime.”
Meanwhile, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange and Managing Director of Denim Expert Ltd., Mostafiz Uddin, reportedly, added, “…this is our organic growth, it was expected,” adding, “We are now in the peak of the season.”
