Subsequent to garment work orders starting to pick up, dyeing mills have also started recovering from losses that they suffered earlier, claimed media reports while underlining that following the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in Bangladesh that forced the Government to go for a countrywide shutdown, most dyeing units – which mainly process woven, yarn and knit garment items – have remained shut for almost a couple of months.
However, subsequent to resumption of work, new work orders for garments have started trickling in, which have rekindled hopes of dyeing mills for an early recovery.
As per the Secretary to the Bangladesh Dyed Yarn Exporters Association, Shibbir Ahmed, dyeing industry is returning to its previous position thanks to the inflow of work orders while Secretary to the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, Monsoor Ahmed, on his part underlined that recovery has also started for woven dyeing units.
