
With its theme of ‘Shonar Bangla: A Land of Limitless Investment Opportunities’ International Investment Summit 2021 is going to be held on 28 and 29 November, organised by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), online.
During the upcoming International Investment Summit 2021, the Government has set a primary target to woo investment from around 15 countries and regions, in 11 sectors including readymade garments and leather even as BIDA has already identified 11 highly potential sectors for presenting before the investors who are expected to participate in the summit.
Media reports maintained this adding some amongst the other sectors in this list are namely energy, agro-processing, health services, blue economy, infrastructure and capital market.
“We made the target just by seeing the FDI history; the target was set through analysing the track record of FDI inflow in the past…,” reportedly, maintained BIDA Executive Chairman Md. Sirazul Islam speaking to the media while underlining the countries and regions include China, Netherlands, India, USA, Singapore, UK, Japan and Korea even if he observed that it does not mean that BIDA doesn’t want investment from other countries.
Of course, we will welcome investment from other countries too…, further maintained Md. Sirazul Islam.
