AKM Salim Osman has triumphed once again, securing his re-election as the President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for the term of 2023-2025.
This is as per media reports with a press release issued in this direction even as with this victory Salim Osman marks his seventh consecutive term as the President of BKMEA.
Managing Director of Wisdom Attires Ltd., Salim Osman holds dual roles as he also serves as a Jatiya Party lawmaker representing the Narayanganj-5 constituency.
The election board of the BKMEA revealed the names of the elected office bearers, with Mohammad Hatem, the Managing Director of MB Knit Fashions Ltd., assuming the position of Executive President while Md Monsoor Ahmed, the Managing Director of Motaher Color Ltd., has been elected as the Senior Vice President of the trade body.
It is noteworthy that the election process encountered no competition, as none of the other candidates submitted nomination papers for the positions. Consequently, all nine office bearers, including Salim Osman, were elected unopposed by the election board.
Among the elected vice-presidents are Fazle Ehsan Shamim, Amal Poddar, Gauhar Siraj Jamil, Akhter Hossain, and Ashikur Rahman. Furthermore, Morshed Sarwar (Sohel) has been elected as the Vice President (Finance) of the association.
