bKash, which is a mobile financial service in Bangladesh operating under the authority of the central bank (Bangladesh Bank) as a subsidiary of BRAC Bank Limited, has donated Taka 10 lakh to BGMEA’s health fund, which was formed to support the apparel workers’ health safety even as bKash Chief Commercial Officer Ali Ahmmed handed over the cheque to BGMEA President Faruque Hassan in Dhaka recently.
Media reports maintained this while adding through the donation, bKash — at present, around 750,000 apparel workers receive salary through bKash — joined BGMEA’s initiative of ensuring health safety and overall health development for garment workers, while, since 2015, bKash has, reportedly, been playing a significant role in salary disbursement of the apparel workers through Payroll Business Solution.
BGMEA Vice-President Shahidullah Azim apart from ATM Mahbub Alam, EVP, Payroll Business of bKash and other senior officials of both the organisations (BGMEA and bKash) were, reportedly, present when Ali Ahmmed handed over the cheque of Taka 10 lakh to the BGMEA President.
