
Amidst recent reports that COVID-19 is taking a toll on the garment workers with number of infected workers increasing by the day, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has made arrangements for early detection and treatment of the infected workers.
The apex garment makers’ body has appointed two technicians at its Ashulia-based health centre to carry out tests among garment workers, and in two days from today, the centre will start collecting samples for carrying out the tests between 9 AM and 10 PM every day.
Workers and employees, engaged in the garment manufacturing sector, can approach the BGMEA’s Ashulia-based health centre from 13 May in between the stipulated time period to get tested.
Further, they would be informed of the test results and also prescribed medications to be taken by the health centre, claimed media reports citing Director of the BGMEA, Asif Ibrahim.
