
To recognise their outstanding contribution towards saving the environment and creating jobs, Bangladesh Government is all set to honour 30 firms with the Green Factory Award even as the awards will be given in six categories, in recognition of their efforts to tackle global warming, keep carbon emissions low and address the impact of climate change locally and globally.
This was underlined by the Labour Ministry recently, claimed media reports.
Of the 30 units to get the green award, 15 are garment manufacturing units, namely Vintage Denim Studio, AR Jeans Producer, Karooni Knit Composite, Tarasima Apparels, Plummy Fashions, Mithila Textiles Industries, Four H Dyeing & Printing, Wisdom Attires, Mahmuda Attires, Snowtex Outwear, Remi Holdings, Designer Fashion, Kenpark Bangladesh Apparel (Kenpark Unit 2), Oeko-Tex and Green Textile (Unit 3).
On 8 December, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to hand over the awards to the winners, marking the celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
