Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) in Pakistan has decided to establish a Textile Corner at its R&D Department. This has been disclosed by President Muhammad Saeed. The Centre in association with the experts from National Textile University (NTU) will help textile sector adopt and upgrade new technology.
Muhammad Saeed and Vice President of FCCI Ahmed Hassan presented a cheque of Rs. 500,000 to NTU to carry out the research activities and bring a qualitative improvement in the industry academia linkages. They also inked an updated the existing MoU, which was earlier signed between FCCI and NTU about two years back.

The textile sector in Pakistan has an overwhelming impact on the economy, contributing 57 per cent to the country’s exports. In today’s highly competitive global environment, the textile sector needs to upgrade its supply chain, improve productivity, and maximize value-addition to be able to survive.
