Sun Fortune Limited, Bangladesh liaison office and subsidiary of NKD, Germany, is planning to start sourcing for value-added items, lingerie and jackets from Bangladesh in a big way.
Although the company forayed into this area during last season, it was still on a much smaller scale. Now, it plans to take it to a higher scale. NKD is also planning to increase sourcing its products from Bangladesh, instead of China.

A senior person, working with the Bangladesh liaison office, confirmed this to Apparel Resources when he said, “Currently, we source mainly from China. We source only around US$10 million per month from Bangladesh. Our main products are top and bottom wears. Our aim is to increase sourcing of value-added items, lingerie, and jackets from Bangladesh. This will be our main focus for the next two years. Currently, we sources lingerie and jackets from China. We will now be sourcing them from Bangladesh.” He also added that the Bangladesh office is also looking for lace suppliers.
