
The controversial e-commerce platform Evaly has refunded over Taka 1.45 lakh to 14 of its customers, which was earlier stuck in the online payment gateway SSLCOMMERZ.
This is as per reports which cited sources from the Commerce Ministry to this end even as they added measures were also in place to ensure customers get their money back – currently stuck in BKash, Nagad apart from SSLCOMMERZ and in phases.
As per reports, around Taka 25 crore of Evaly customers are stuck in different payment platforms including Nagad bKash and SSLCOMMERZ even if besides that, a smaller amount is also stuck in other payment gateways.
It may be mentioned here Bangladesh Government earlier last month had asked local payment gateways to submit information about the funds stuck from Evaly’s customers even as in November 2022, the central Commerce Ministry’s e-commerce cell had asked Evaly to submit data by 11 December pertaining to the number of its customers and the amount of money stuck in the payment gateways.
