
E-commerce sales in Bangladesh, in the run up to the Eid-ul-Fitr, have increased by around 40 per cent.
Media reports maintained this citing the e-CAB or the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh.
According to e-CAB, which has 1,693 e-commerce companies as registered members, daily sales volume went up to around 350,000 at the very end of the last week of Ramadan, which averaged 250,000 prior to the start of the holy month as online sales rose by 40 per cent and maintained an increased streak throughout the holy month of Ramadan and this despite bricks-and-mortar shops opening up.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Daraz Bangladesh —Daraz is an online shopping platform — Md Tajdin Hassan, reportedly, underlined despite the pandemic-related restriction being lifted, people were more comfortable shopping online.
