Chairperson of Bangladesh e-commerce firm Evaly released on bail: Reports

Former Chairperson of controversial Bangladesh e-commerce platform Evaly, Shamima Nasreen, was recently released from jail.

Media reports maintained this adding Shamima Nasreen was released from Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail in Gazipur on 6 April, after she managed to get a bail pertaining to a money laundering case filed against her.

Following filing of a case by a businessman named Kamrul Islam, the Chairperson of Evaly was arrested.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Syed Shah Sharif,in-charge of Kashimpur Women’s Jail,

confirmed this development.

Kamrul, in his case filed against Nasreen, reportedly, maintained he had supplied goods worth Taka 35 lakh to the Dhanmondi office of Evaly but was not paid his dues.
