Affiliated with the global clothing retailer C&A, C&A Foundation announces the launch of its global partnership with Ashoka, the world’s largest network of leading social entrepreneurs. This three-year collaboration, called Fabric of Change: Innovating for a Sustainable Apparel Industry, will support innovations that have the power to transform the apparel industry. “C&A Foundation supports innovations to help transform the way the industry works,” said Leslie Johnston, Executive Director of C&A Foundation. “By connecting networks of changemakers and equipping communities with the tools to solve the root causes of critical problems, we can catalyze system-wide change in the apparel industry,” said Bill Drayton, founder and CEO of Ashoka.
It will support a cadre of social entrepreneurs at various stages of their development, from ideation to scaling, and will engage a community of experts and innovators to support their growth. Through the partnership, C&A Foundation and Ashoka will select and support 15 new Ashoka Fellows who have systems changing ideas relevant to apparel, and will help 15 additional Fellows with proven models replicate or scale up their impact within the industry. In addition, C&A Foundation and Ashoka will launch a global online ‘Changemakers’ competition to source new ideas for industry transformation.
