Even though comparatively new, brands and retailers in Bangladesh are bringing their wedding attire lines to the forefront, offering customers for the first-time luxury wedding outfits that are completely local.
Media reports maintained this adding the would-be brides and grooms no longer travel overseas for their wedding shopping trip, and instead can do it in Dhaka.
Brands like Aarong and Mayasir are some of the names in this direction.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, fashion designer and owner of Sarah Karim Couture Sarah Karim reportedly underlined that there’s a definite shift in how brides in Bangladesh are choosing dresses that promote local brands and at the same time promote the work of the talented artisans.
As per industry insiders, Covid-19 pandemic came as a blessing in disguise as local brands made the most of this opportunity to help the industry get into high gear.
“If your products have the same quality as those of international brands and you do not compromise on serving your clients, then I can definitely see our local bridal industry becoming successful on a global scale,” meanwhile opined the Owner of brand Chantilly, Selina Nusrat, while emphasising there need to be concentrated efforts from local fashion brands to make the industry not only self-sufficient, but also enable it to be on the path to global dominance in the days to come.
