Australian designer swimwear brand MissManeater has started a fundraising campaign to back its major expansion plans in 2021.
The brand’s founder and Chief Creative Director Renay Wells spoke to Apparel Resources and unveiled the idea behind the campaign.
“Retailing on Etsy for the past 6 years, although achieving great SEO, was somehow lacking the social interaction that the Maneater customer craves,” commented Renay, adding, “Migrating from WIX to Shopify will enable my followers (via Instagram) to SHOP product directly which is important to our brand and to create more of a presence via our multiple accounts. This integration WIX has lagged on for quite some time.”
Until now, the team of Miss Maneater had been facing issues with sensory flooded timelines on Instagram, which require strong imagery to capture users’ attention for the split second that the brand must convert their gaze.
According to Renay, MissManeater Swim Australia has strong imagery and continues to create that content and lure shoppers on social platforms.

The idea of fundraising came from an entrepreneurship course which Renay had been attending for last two weeks and crowd-funding was a topic there.
The aim behind the new website development is to gain global dominance for the swimwear designer brand as well as the boutique bikini brand.
The viewer/potential backer can contribute any amount of funds, in AUD, from US $ 1 to US $ 17,700, informed Renay. In return, the potential backer/viewer will get a chance to actually purchase a swimsuit at a discounted rate, being either 17 per cent off on signature collections or 11 per cent off on limited edition collections.
