With an aim to promote digitization and implementation of the integrated financial management system, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has recently launched e-Governance programme funded under Khadi Reform Development Programme (KRDP).
In partnership with ATOS India – engaged in providing business solutions via technologies – KVIC, the nodal agency for promotion of cluster development for Khadi, took this initiative to usher in a new era in KVIC offices across India. It will integrate all financial activities of the KVIC like Central Office at Mumbai with its six central sliver plants, 44 state and divisional offices, all sales outlets and training centres.
“This would be the first time that such an exercise was being done to integrate all KVIC offices, sales outlets, sliver plants, production centres, etc. digitally, which is the vision of Prime Minister,” said KVIC Chairman V K Saxena while launching the project.

This e-Governance system is being designed with a view to tone up the planning, budgeting, procurement, expenditure management, production and sales of KVIC products.
Apart from digitization, KVIC has also decided to revise the wages for the spinners upward to Rs. 7 per hank (coiled form of Khadi yarn), about 75 per cent hike over Rs. 4, paid before November 2016.
