Reto Renggli, Switzerland’s ambassador to Bangladesh, has praised the country’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry for its progress in sustainability and modern production standards.
During a visit to 4A Yarn Dyeing Limited in Baipail, Savar, an internationally certified green factory under Team Group that specialises in high-end outerwear, he told journalists on Thursday (25th September), “It’s a very modern factory. I was impressed by what I saw, especially since it produces for brands in Switzerland.”
The envoy also welcomed the factory’s sustainability initiatives, noting their alignment with priorities long emphasised in European markets. “I was very much impressed by the sustainability goals the company is pursuing. It’s an excellent example of how business success can be combined with sustainable development,” he said.
The facility integrates advanced technology such as AutoCAD design software and an AI-driven smart solution called Nidle, which tracks and digitises production in real time. This system helps improve efficiency and quality while reducing waste.
Abdullah Hil Nakib, deputy managing director of Team Group, said the ambassador’s visit reflects positively on Bangladesh’s image. “Swiss customers could never have imagined a factory here operating at this level. If he shares his experience in that market, the whole industry will benefit,” he remarked.
Currently employing more than 5,000 workers, 4A Yarn Dyeing exports garments worth over US $ 70 million annually, with expectations to cross the US $ 100 million mark soon. Team Group supplies to more than 20 leading global brands.
