
Underlining there were huge prospects of trade between Bangladesh and Indonesia, which calls for collaborative engagement to identify the scope to enjoy the advantage of the opportunities, the President of the apex Bangladesh garment makers’ body underlined bilateral cooperation between South Asian countries could pave the way for deriving mutual trade benefits especially in the apparel and textile sector.
Media reports maintained this adding BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said this at a recent virtual discussion arranged by the BGMEA and the Indonesian Textile Association.
The BGMEA President while underlining Bangladesh was pursuing the next level of growth through diversification of products especially high-end non-cotton apparel products and technical textiles, reportedly, said Indonesian textile can meet the local RMG sector’s demand for manmade fibres and fabrics as they move up the value chain while also adding Indonesia can also import apparels from Bangladesh.
The said event was, reportedly,graced by Ambassador of Indonesia to Bangladesh Heru Hartanto Subolo and API chairman Jemmy Kartiwa Sastraatmaja along with other representatives of Indonesian textile companies.
