Creative Director of the Italian fashion luxury house, Angela Missoni’s own daughter has designed a capsule collection for American plus size brand, Eloquii. Teresa Maccapani Missoni, the 24-year old born in the lap of Missoni’s long heritage and familial values, drew upon her personal style and her travels as an inspiration for the collection.
As beautifully Mediterranean and vacation-worthy as the 24-piece collections, it resembles nothing of the identity of Missoni as the big fashion house. Teresa agrees upon the pieces looking very different and is extremely elated to be catering the bigger size market, which she believes is traditionally underserved so far. Missoni also added, “I finally had the chance to do something on my own. I love Missoni and I grew up in my mom’s office helping out with the collection, but it was really important to me to do something different.”

However, being a Missoni herself, how far could she really run from the eclectic prints and valiant colours of the house? Her collection is finely dotted in coral and azure paisleys with drawings of mermaids added to the mix. She also drew inspiration from her travels in in Africa, India and Sardinia and has employed a lot of embroidery, beading and explaining the drive behind the collaboration she said, “I wanted my collection to inspire women to feel confident, powerful, and—above all—to give them lots of options.” The collection is available online for sizes 14 to 28 on Eloquii’s official website.
