Going after the ‘unthinkable’ has become a habit for Nitin N Singhi, MD, Fusion Prints Pvt. Ltd., the founder of a unique concept that gives him the freedom to print on any substrate from plastic to metal to leather, giving a fashion twist to mundane accessories like polyester buttons, metal snap buttons, metal eyelets, metal ring snap buttons, wooden buttons, coconut buttons, shell buttons, hangers, sizers, buckles, zippers in fact almost anything that can add value. Having started his career in the late ’80s as a delivery boy for a printing press, Nitin’s fascination for prints grew by the day and today he has awed the fashion industry with his capabilities. “It has been a long journey full of struggle, but by the grace of God the technical bend of mind combined with the passion for creativity has been the driving force to create this concept. For more than two years I closed myself to the world and studied most of the printing technologies in the market, looked at what were the drawbacks and worked towards solutions. Today the result is for all to see,” says a very enthusiastic Nitin.

Indeed their floral prints/polka dots/cartoon characters/logo prints on buttons are a craze and many admit that they never thought that it would be possible to source such products from India. Based in Chennai, Fusion Prints shares that they have a pan-India presence and can supply samples in less than 4 days to anywhere in the country and bulk orders in 10-15 days depending on quantities. All that the client has to do is send a pdf/AI/jpeg /cdr of the design that they require. Another major advantage with our concept is that quantities are not an issue and from a few pieces to a few thousands, the commitment is the same. “It’s my self-created technology so we know how to get the optimal out of it and the basic idea is to give best results to my clients,” reasons Nitin.
The semi-automated technology is so precise that no training is required, and Fusion shares that they hire local uneducated people of any age and they can start working immediately. Even the colour recipes are so precisely calculated and measured (taught by Nitin’s printing Guru Viswas Phadke) that there is no chance of getting the shade wrong. The concept is not limited by the number of colours/size/shape and Fusion has created its own colours and colour card with more than 1,200 shades based on the principle of combining 2/3 of our basic colours to get any colour, and are so opaque that the actual colour will not change even if printed on any dark base, the clients can choose from the range and we will deliver exactly the same shade. Currently, Fusion Prints has the capacity to print 30,000 gross per month.
Now that Fusion has a proven technology that can deliver at par to what the industry is sourcing from other countries, he is making a fresh appeal to the industry to see and try his products. “We are very confident of our concept, and as of today we are also more competitive than any other country on price, as with the quantities increase our competitiveness will increase even further,” says Nitin. Interestingly, since the concept is aimed at the international buyers, our printing is in line with all international norms in testing and can meet even the most stringent of testing requirements. “Not many know that what we are doing is possible in India, but by the day the awareness is growing and if required we can increase our capacity in about a week’s time, so picking up work is not a problem,” concludes a confident Nitin.
