As per the press release from Macy’s, 90 per cent of women have at least one risk factor for cardiovascular diseases which cause one in three deaths among women each year. The clothing firm inspires customers to support this fight against heart disease and stroke by participating in the Go Red with Macy’s event. Customers who wear red or purchase the official Red Dress pin for US $ 3 will receive an extra 25 per cent on most purchases storewide, or 15 per cent off fine and fashion jewellery, sale and clearance watches, and select home items.
Martine Reardon, Chief Marketing Officer at Macy’s said, “As the founding national partner, Macy’s has been a proud supporter of Go Red For Women for more than a decade,” adding, “Through the movement, the colour ‘red’ and ‘the red dress’ have become linked with the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives. We thank our associates and customers who take such an active role in our efforts to help the millions of women in the United States affected by cardiovascular diseases, and look forward to their support again this year as we offer many ways to give back to the cause through our promotions, events and merchandise.”
