The High Court has recently maintained that a four-member interim board can be formed for controversial e-commerce platform Evaly to assess its liabilities for liquidation even as the High Court bench of justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar expressed the opinion following the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firm submitting all related documents pertaining to Evaly before the court.
Speaking to the media, lawyer AKM Badruddoza, who appeared before the court on behalf of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firm, reportedly, maintained that the court has made this suggestion even as it, reportedly, maintained that both the Directors of Evaly are currently in jail and disposing the liquidation application of Evaly will be a lengthy process even as there is no one to take decisions on behalf of the e-commerce entity in the meanwhile.
The court has further, reportedly, sought names of former or incumbent three Secretaries and one Additional Secretary from the Commerce Ministry to choose one of them as a board member even as it was, reportedly, considering forming an interim board consisting one secretary, one retired justice, one jurist and one chartered accountant to make decisions and assess liabilities of Evaly.
