
Thousands of e-commerce customers in Bangladesh, who have their money stuck in different payment gateways for a long time, are likely to get refund soon.
As per reports, the Commerce Ministry in its latest move has confirmed the same while according to some estimates around Taka 214 crore is stuck of the affected customers in the different payment gateway even if customer of such e-commerce companies that are out of any kind of judiciary restrictions will first get their money back with the process of refund starting this month.
The country’s central bank, Bangladesh Bank, has already, reportedly, instructed the payment gateways to start refunding the money of the e-commerce companies stuck in the escrow service on 15 December even as the concerned ministry, reportedly, sent a letter to the police headquarters to inform it of all the cases against the e-commerce companies within seven days for the release of this money.
And now following receipt of information from the police headquarters affected customers will start getting their money within January, reports claimed.
