
The e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh or e-CAB, while underlining the e-commerce sector in the country is still at flourishing stage, recently called upon the Government to withdraw minimum tax on turnover, revise rate of tax deducted at source (TDS) and review bar on promotional expenses.
Media reports maintained this adding e-CAB has also called for withdrawing obligatory VAT-registration system for the companies having an annual turnover up to Taka 30 million and introducing digital VAT chalan.
According to media reports, the e-commerce players in the country came up with the request during a discussion ahead of the budget for fiscal year 2022-23, organised by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), which was presided over by NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem.
