Around 20 customers of Bangladesh e-commerce platform Qcoom recently got a refund of around Taka 40.24 lakh even as the payment was made through the payment gateway Foster Corporation.
Media reports maintained this adding both the entities (Qcoom and Foster Corporation) had provided an initial list of 6,721 consumers to the country’s Commerce Ministry, underlining they were eligible for a refund of Taka 59.05 crore.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Senior Secretary Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Ghosh, reportedly, said other Qcoom consumers will be refunded gradually.
This is, reportedly, first such move by an e-commerce platform — Bangladesh e-commerce sector is mired in controversy related to alleged non-delivery of goods against advance payments made by customers — to initiate refund.
