Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd., a Chinese firm, has announced plans to invest US $ 28.92 million in the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) to establish a garments manufacturing facility in Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka, with BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman overseeing the ceremony. The contract was signed by Md Ashraful Kabir, BEPZA’s Member for Investment Promotion, and Zhuofan Cai, Managing Director of Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd.
The new facility is expected to produce 50 million pieces of garments annually, including underwear, T-shirts, yoga pants, and swim pants. This venture is projected to create job opportunities for 3,135 Bangladeshi nationals.
During the signing ceremony, the BEPZA Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise for selecting BEPZA EZ as their investment destination and reaffirmed BEPZA’s dedication to providing a secure and supportive environment for investors. He welcomed Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise as the newest member of the BEPZA community.
